We don't know if the Duratrax Nitro Nissan GT-R can live up to the real Godzilla car's supercar performance (think 0 to 60 in barely three seconds). Regardless, many of us have probably dreamt of driving a GT-R and you can look at this as a trial run for the real thing.
Sold as a ready-to-run package, it's an RC GT-R that makes it easy for novices to get going and gives RC vets plenty of room to play with. Designed for on-road racing right off the box, Duratrax claims the 1/10-scale 4WD should "satisfy every driver's need for speed."
Details of the Duratrax Nitro Nissan GT-R include an ST18-S nitro engine with dual chamber tuned pipe, durable and lightweight aluminum chassis, Super Start RTR handheld starter, all metal gears, four-wheel shaft drive, three-shoe clutch, dual chamber tuned pipe, easily adjustable pillow ball front suspension, and 2-speed transmission with adjustable shift point. The finished polycarbonate body comes fully painted in your choice of deep blue pearl, gun metallic or solid red.

On the hunt for a serious on-road racing kit? You might want to watch out for Team Associated's RC10R5.1 Factory Team Kit, which bring some serious performance to fans of 1/10-scale World GT roadburners.
Taking design cues and notes from the company's highly-successful 1/12-scale on-road platform, the smaller vehicle boasts the best performance among Team Associated's previous kits in the class. And if you're familiar with the company's 35-year long racing experience in the category, you better believe this ride brings something special.
Sporting a much-improved chassis, the RC10R5.1 Factory Team Kit uses ultra-rigid 2.5mm thick carbon fiber on its backbone, with chassis-stiffening nails to ensure it holds up during the most brutal races. Features include a Dynamic Strut front suspension (which, Team Associated claims, is arguably the best in the land), an updated motor mount for increased durability, a 3-point upper pod plate optimized for brushless motors, aluminum side spring retainers for more accurate adjustments, an innovative through-shaft center shock, side damper tubes that help improve roll and a pivot ball rear pod design that stays hooked up even going past the imperfections of the tracks.
If you want maximum lap times in your next 1/10-scale World GT race, it's going to be hard to go wrong with the Team Associated RC10R5.1 Factory Team Kit. It's available now.

Kyosho has announced the latest in their Ultima line of competition buggies. Called the Ultima RB6, the vehicle boasts a "further development of the breed," bringing enhancements that should make it "a strong choice as the car to beat for the 2013 season."
Set to be available as a kit, the 1/10-scale 2WD package includes an unassembled chassis, a clear body with masking, wheel set, wing and a complete manual. You'll need to throw in the motor, ESC, battery, radio and tires, so make sure you pick them up before leaving the shop.

The Kyosho Ultima RB6 2WD includes a 7075 anodized aluminum chassis with a longer wheelbase (13mm more) than the last-generation RB5. Two motor layout setups are available in the kit (rear 3 gear and mid 4 gear), allowing you to optimize the vehicle depending on the track and terrain you're racing on. Battery tray is compatible with short, straight and saddle packs. Features include reversible rear gullwing suspension arms, velvet-coated big bore shocks, downforce "Blade" cab forward body, X-Gear differential lubricants, a super low center-of-gravity design and an all-new front-end geometry.
You can get the Kyosho Ultima RB6 2WD starting September, with an MSRP of $649.99.

Team Losi has announced a new short course truck -- it's the kit they've been teasing the past few weeks. The vehicle is the Team Losi 22SCT, a 1/10-scale short course truck designed from the ground up to be a serious competition racer.
Based on the ROAR National Champion 22 Buggy, the vehicle is being billed as one of the most innovative and durable racers to ever enter the category. While time will prove that to be true or false, there's no denying the specs sheet sounds like they really dropped a load of some serious power its way.

Looking to make a serious dent in the 1/10-scale short course world, the Team Losi 22SCT Kit borrows heavily from the field-tested elements found in TLR's championship-winning 22 platform, leading to one of the most unique short course racers currently in the market. Most notable are the flexible motor placement (either rear- or mid-mounting is accommodated), multiple spur gears and two full sets of tires (8 wheels total), allowing drivers to tune their vehicles for best performance, regardless of track style and surface.
It features all metric hardware for easier maintenance, along with a laundry list of high-end components. Details include a 2.5mm hard-anodized aluminum chassis, full ball bearings (including steering), heavy duty 4mm turnbuckles, dish inserts for the wheels, slide rack steering, an optimized suspension package, gullwing-style front arms, maximum front nose clearance, molded gear cover, steel drive shafts and more.
No word yet on release date or pricing for the Team Losi 22SCT Kit, but the car has reportedly debuted at events for demonstration during the last week. Expect this to be a big seller.

Looking for a rock crawler that's affordable, easy to control and capable enough to get you on the road (well, off-road) to learning your way around this sport? The just-announced Axial AX10 Ridgecrest should make for a good fit.
The AX10 line has long been Axial's "Swiss Army Knife" of sorts, bringing a little of every aspect of crawling to the table, so this new release is no different. Billed as "one of the most versatile trucks Axial has ever engineered," the vehicle claims to strike a mix of off-road running speed and crawling prowess, making it ideal for novice players getting their head around the game. The body comes pre-printed, with the entire vehicle built right in the factory, so all you have to do is unbox and start playing.
The 1/10 scale 4WD Axial AX10 Ridgecrest features a tube-style chassis design for rugged performance and high-performance shocks to handle all the troubles of the off-road. Power is provided by a 20T motor, which pairs with the vertically-mounted (to help shield it from water and debris) AE-2 ESC (which comes with drag brake for all those difficult crawling situations). Other details of the off-road performer include WB8 Wild Boar splined drive shafts, adjustable battery tray, AR60 OCP axles, four-link suspension,2.2 Ripsaw tires (5.5 inches tall, 2.1 inches wide), and 2.2 Raceline Renegade wheels. It comes with an AX-3 2.4GHz radio system, with the receiver tucked safe inside a waterproof box.
Slated for release by mid-April, the Axial AX10 Ridgecrest will retail for $575.

Everybody loves a good short-course racer these days. We're not sure how the Redcat Racing Calder SC 10E fares against the leaders in the class, but it sure looks like it can hold its own.
Designed for desert terrain and short course tracks, the beastly 4WD appears ready to bash in the sand with its burly frame and aggressive looks. The paint job and decals adorning the 410 x 320 x 165-mm. frame look very fitting for its rugged purpose, making for a ride you can fall in love with right out of the box.
The Redcat Racing Caldera SC 10E packs a brushless 3750KV RC-540 motor, paired with a brushless ESC (2s LIPO Ready) and a 7.2-volt 3800Mah NiMh battery pack. It's got big bore shocks and a Redcat DSM-2C 2.4GHz radio system in tow.
Redcat calls the 1/10 short course vehicle a balance of speed and power. While I'd rather wait to try one to buy into that, you can check the videos below to see it in action. Looks mighty warranted to me. We're not sure about the vehicle's exact availability, but price is $239.99.

Can't get enough of those Tamiya buggy reissues? Here's one more to join your Buggy Champ and Hotshot: the Tamiya Avante.
During its first release in 1988, the electric buggy made some heads turn for its innovative design. Sporting a formula-type body, a double-deck chassis layout, and longitudinal motor and battery positions, it brought a sophistication to the RC scene that has kept it a nostalgic favorite among the current crop of buggy enthusiasts. In fact, unopened examples of the original vehicle continue to fetch a higher price today compared to any other Tamiya collectible from the same period.
The 2011 Tamiya Avante sticks to the same general design and dimensions of the classic RC, but gets a number of improvements to bring it up to par with today's crop of buggy racers. Updates include the use of carbon fiber for the main frame and various parts (instead of fiber-reinforced plastic composite), universal shafts at both front and rear to reduce friction, easier damper maintenance, duralumin front knuckles and pin-secured wheel axles.
It's compatible with all of Tamiya's current radio systems (including 2.4Ghz), as well as their wide range of battery packs. Just to further feed your sense of nostalgia, they're releasing it in the original packaging, with all parts stored in blister packs.
The 1/10-scale 2011 Tamiya Avante will hit store shelves starting January, with an MSRP of $745.
